Really like the minimalistic design that makes the bag doesn’t look like a camera bag.
Very lightweight as a camera bag which is usually bulky and heavy.
As it is light, it can also be used as everyday carry.
Given other emerging online brands which are going more and more expensive on bags, this one has a premium look and quality with a reasonable price.
Received it as Kickstarter reward last week. The first impression when I opened it was like “ It’s so cool”
It certainly looks better than the photos and it really doesn't look like a camera bag.
The aluminium hook has a very satisfying elastic spring to secure to the bag. It is not too hard to open, but should be very secure. I especially like the finish on the hook, a bit similar to the MacBook case.
The internal grey lining is a bit dull though. All the fabrics and zippers are great. I don't buy any bags without YKK zippers. That’s one of the reasons I choose it.
The bag is unexpectedly light. Unlike my current camera bag, which is heavy even without any gear inside.
The dividers are a bit too thick, wish they are thinner.
It is quite hard to put my iPad 11” in with the case. I can only fit in without the case.
I have used it for about 4 days, the overall impression is it does its jobs well.
All in all, the quality lives up with the price. It’s a premium quality camera bag. All the materials look long lasting and exceptionally cool. Just cant’t find anything like this out there.
Received mine last week, it is very well structured. All the stitchings are very firm and stiff. Built to last for sure. The paddings around the bag are not too thick, so the bag is very lightweight compare to other camera bags. Use it with my Sony A7III and FE85 F1.8 lens. I think the paddings are well enough for cushion. The strap is very comfortable, but not too thick. I really like all the materials. It’s probably the best camera bag I have ever owned.
Bought last month, been using for 2-3 weeks as everyday carry. The YKK zippers work well as the outer fabric which is waterproof.
Comparing to my Peak Design 5L and Incase Sling, the quality is well above as none of them has this waterproofness and premium YKK zippers. It is also obviously lighter than both of them. The bag has heavy duty stitchings on all the most important areas, so I believe ot can last quite long.
In terms of functionality, it is very much similar to other camera sling bag. However, it has more small organisations that the others may not have enough. Some of the pockets are small. I can fit in my charging cables. The inner pocket will occupy some of the internal compartment when I put my charger inside. As I carry my Sony A7III with 24-105mm lens and Sony FE85mm f1.4. I still have spaces for my personal stuffs and snacks.
Tested under heavy rains for about an hour, everything are dry inside. Really like how waterproof it is as I hate using rain cover.
After all, I am happy with all the features and especially the building quality, which includes the waterproof fabrics, YKK zippers and heavy duty stitchings. Also, its sleek outlook makes the bag doesn't look like a camera bag at all.
Personal review of Instinct Sling Bag 7L
Quality seems good, however, this needs to be tested for wear and tear as time goes by.
There was a delay in my shipping. Not their fault but still disappointing.
I love the strap with extra egg-crate like padding.
The aluminium buckle is quite difficult to attach when switching from the stowable wings.
The dividers are of sub-standard quality.
When the front pocket is full it bulges from the inside which takes space in the main compartment. The divider bends as the front pocket is taking space (not very well-thought of)
As the marketing said: Can fit up to 11” tablet — this is absolutely impossible!
The stretchable pockets: It holds the memory card securely but not cables as the it is stitched at the bottom. Quite inconvenient.
I was wrong when I thought this would replace the camera sling bag that came with my OneMo Backpack, but it can’t replace the quality and the usefulness of the OneMo.
Overall: I would say you get what you paid for. If you got this bag from KS then its a great deal. If you are buying this post KS — the price is not worth it. I would prefer to pay more for a Peak Design sling bag than getting this. I would say “MEH” for overall reaction. Not the best, not the worst. Just “MEH”. Just mediocre.
