Nice but flawed

I love XPac - I really LOVE XPac, and so I was super excited to try this pouch/sling. I really wanted to love the Sacoche Lite, but I ended up just liking it, and only a little. This should be a premium product - but the pouch is consistently working against itself. The XPac is great, but the liner is a 'cheap' feeling plain weave (not even rip-stop) fabric; the zippers are YKK, but they are the cheaper painted slider version. It is this juxtaposition that lets down the pouch overall. The quality of the stitching is not to the same standards as say Aer, Mystery Ranch, or Evergoods; honestly, it isn't as good as Alpaka (which is a problem given the price point). The zipper line on the main zipper is about as straight as a Met Detective and doesn't have the slick feel of say a Bellroy pouch. I have been using it as a pouch in my EDC commute pack and to be honest, it got the spot because I don't care if it gets trashed; however, it is standing up well and I can't fault its use. I know from experience, over time the zipper slide paint will rub off and it will look rubbish, but I don't care; and that's probably the best thing about the pack, I fully expect this thing to last, it just won't look that pretty doing it.
